Yui Kugimiya (JP) is another artist who explores painting, texture and color through stop-motion animation. Kugimiya viewing the animations as its "living paintings", which was also experimenting with textures, for example, by using sand, stone, fur and wool directly on the image surface. In the Life of a Swan, she also uses itself, where we see a painted and animated swan jump out of the picture and get to live in the "real world".
